It all began in London, at the dawn of the new millennium. The Studio Foster + Partners, led by Britain’s superstar of architecture, met with Dada and asked us to become a partner in their projects. The reason was Albion Riverside, a residential project on the southwest bank of the River Thames. Foster has an obsession: “The smallest details of a building, like handles and taps, are often neglected. But the people who use the buildings have direct contact with these elements. These are examples of miniature architecture.

This obsession produced Place, the kitchen made by Dada and designed by Foster + Partners. “A rational marriage of beauty and usefulness”. A new concept of the kitchen, in Corian and glass, with the development of different technologies, integrated into a unique, simple and rational system. Apartments are laid out to enhance flexibility. Even the 125 Place kitchens installed follow the same design scheme, aimed at maximum openness and liveability of the rooms. They are the centre of the domestic space: an inviting, functional common area, where people can live together while doing very different things. That’s how Place evolved.
