UK - London Casa Italia London

Details

Located just steps from Buckingham Palace in London, UK, Casa Italia is set within a Victorian property spanning nearly 2,000 square metres. Designed as a vibrant, international meeting point for Italian and foreign dignitaries, cultural and business leaders, academics, journalists, and other key stakeholders, the interior project was curated by Nick Vinson, featuring contributions from Molteni&C, UniFor and Citterio.

The ground floor features the Eugenio Montale Library, defined by UniFor’s: CF shelving system designed by Dante Bonuccelli. Finished in a silver lacquer, the floor-to-ceiling modular structure wraps around the entire room, creating a strong visual rhythm that enhances both the artworks on display and the verticality of the space.

Two Less tables by Jean Nouvel also in silver lacquer anchor the central area and provide surfaces for reading and study. These are paired with 123 chairs by Michael Anastassiades, contributing to an atmosphere of understated, contemporary elegance. The iconic D.151.4 armchairs by Gio Ponti are complemented by tables from the Andromeda collection by LSM, which also appears in the waiting room, where an elliptical travertine-top table sits beside the Augusto sofa by Vincent Van Duysen. A double sliding Wood Wall partition by Citterio separates the two rooms, preserving transparency and a sense of continuity.

Across the building, UniFor furnishings define the workspaces with a coherent, recognisable aesthetic. The versatile S200 height-adjustable workstations configured as single, double or multiple units are installed from the ground to the third floor. Their vivid colour palette, featuring shades of red, blue, green and yellow, differentiates each area and reflects its function and identity.
