The new home of the Museo d’Arte Moderna in Bologna, in the ex city bakery, offers the museum as a venue for events as well as a container and promoter of art. The alteration work, designed by Arassociati architects, takes maximum advantage of the building’s exhibition potential by combining complementary spaces which can become autonomous, in a constant dialogue with the city which produces new cultural forms.

The structure, plant and lighting are unusual and do not intrude. The museum spaces are simple and clean in their finishings and furnishings. Unifor and Molteni&C contributed furnishings made to design: Unifor created the reception area, the central control areas and the management offices as well as the seating, while Molteni&C designed and developed all the made-to-measure furnishings for the library and the conference room along with the sofas.
